Una Hamilton Helle & Lotte De Bruyne
"Becoming the Forest is a publication which looks at our relationship to our surroundings, with a specific focus on the Northern hemisphere’s abundance of dense spruce forests, and how the aesthetic and philosophy of the musical subculture of black metal has become entangled with this topography, countering the anthropocentric interpretation of the world.
Becoming the Forest is a wider and ongoing arts project by artist Una Hamilton Helle, of which this publication is the latest instalment. The publication includes specially commissioned essays, interviews, illustration and photography and brings together multiple international voices from literature, the visual arts, science, art history and the musical realms. These include contributions about the molecular memory of spruce trees, musings on the animistic worldview, an introduction to folkloric painter Theodor Kittelsen and interviews with black metal-inspired bands that touch upon everything from eco-dystopian outlooks to the celebration of the mundanity of nature."

Wiegedood (B)
"exploded out of Belgium with their furious, gripping brand of black metal on their debut, De Doden Hebben Het Goed in 2015. The songs on the album combined blistering speed and howling vocals with moments of meditative stillness.
Following the release of their first record the band became more cohesive through repeated live performance. Wiegedood have lost absolutely none of the ferocity from De Doden Hebben Het Goed on the band’s latest record De Doden Hebben het Goed II. The album also trades some of the atmosphere of Wiegedood’s first record for a higher dose of pure aggression. It unleashes a brutality fitting to bands like Gorgoroth, Marduk, Mgla and Tsjuder.
Whether they are playing live or whether you listen to either of their records, Wiegedood have an aura that forcefully inspires awe and devotion. They are a visceral experience that is tough to forget, an experience that show Wiegedood to be at the top of the genre and that is sure to blow many seasoned black metal acts out of the water. "
